Dancing Into My 30th Year...

I had my 29th birthday this month, and what a time it was!! The weekend of my birthday, some friends had a BBQ, but the weekend after it was a day of shopping and a night of booty shakin' in the capital, Taipei. There were 10 of us.....

We stayed at The Hope Hotel. Check out the short time option. I think people stay there in "hopes" of a good time, not a long time...Ha!

After an evening of poker and primping, we went to a club called The Luxy to dance the night away. We were lucky enough to be on the guestlist...it's just the way we roll ;-)

And there's the birthday girl herself...gold shoes and all! Thank you ladies, for a fantastic night.

Spring Scream

Every year, Taiwan has a big music festival called Spring Scream. Last year I went and it was awesome. This year, I actually had the chance to play at it. It was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. My friend Neil (pictured above with the guitar to the left) is an amazing singer/songwriter. He has recorded an album and has toured Canada. A couple of weeks ago, he asked my roommate Phil and I to back him up for his gig at Spring Scream. His stage name is Newt and Phil and I are now his back up band called The Slacks (think slackers, not pants and it's a pretty good name).

It was my first time playing a big show with lights, a soundman, an audience of more than twenty or thirty people, etc. Though I was nervous beforehand, the show went extremely well. The foreigners and the Taiwanese all seemed to dig our sound and it could be the start of bigger and better things. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. It was a great night of music.
