Si inspired...

Dear Simon,

There's nothing more I like than cheese. Seeing that album cover of Eddie Murphy on you website brought much joy into my heart. So I went hunting for some of my favourites and even found a few new favourites. The front-runner, is Hasselhoff. First of all, anything this guy does is cheese. Second of all, he really does suck. How the guy became a superstar is beyond me. Second up is Michael Bolton. I just found this gem. Man, that hair is terrible. And look at that outfit. I can't wait for the eighties to come back. Third. Who knew? Eddie Murphy has two albums. I don't know which one is worse. Fourth: Whitesnake. Actually, now that I look at it again, it could be the best album cover of all time. A naked woman humping a giant snake. Fifth: Bobby Weir. The cheeseman pulls it off everytime. And sixth: wait. How did that get in there?

Pakistan Earthquake Benefit show at the Frog Pub

Another year, another benefit show. Last year the Double Standard had their first gig here raising money for tsunami victims. This year, our new band called Brain Curtains (tentative name) played their first gig to raise money for earthquake victims in Pakistan. The first picture is us playing Neil Young's Out on the Weekend. The second picture is me playing a song (I Know You Rider) with a band called The Soilers. Next picture is a couple of groupies who kept trying to get backstage. And the final picture is self-explanatory. That's a damn cute dog sitting at the bar.

Youth in Asia - Part 2

For the second year in a row, I formed a band with my students for the Christmas show. Last year we did Linkin Park. This year (I'm the only returning member of Youth in Asia) we did Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams and a Chinese tune called Blue Eyes. We blew the roof off the place...

Postcard from Taiwan

Shin Ying Quai Le!

Happy New Year from Taiwan. Things are going smoothly over here. It seems like winter is over, as we haven't had a cold day in about two weeks. In about three weeks time, Lindsay and I are taking off for Bangkok and then Sri Lanka for Chinese New Year. We land in Colombo at two in the morning. Should be interesting.
Xmas here was good. We ate and drank a lot. New Years was the same, minus the food. These two bozos in the picture were supposed to come down to Taichung but, alas, they never did. It was a great night, nonetheless.
I hope all is well with everyone and that the festivities in F'ton were good. I've been a little slack in the keeping in touch department but I will try to be better in the future. That's my new year's resolution along with playing my bass higher.

that's all for now,
clau

P.S. Si, if you ask me, anyone who laughs at a pair of Zubaz pants is an idiot.
